SUNGURA musician Taruvinga “Sugar Sugar” Manjokota is set to share the stage with Alick Macheso at Club 007 in Glendale on April 8.
The “Juliana” hitmaker has been keeping a low profile over the years, fuelling speculation that his band, Samaita Express, had collapsed.
In an interview with The Sunday Mail, Sugar Sugar, however, dismissed the reports saying he is now regaining lost ground.
“A lot of negative things have been said about me,” he said.
“With the assistance that I am getting from fellow musicians and promoters, I am slowly but surely regaining lost ground.”
Macheso’s publicist, Tich Makahamadze, said Sugar Sugar still has a lot to offer.
“Those that are going to attend the Glendale show will see for themselves,” he said.
“Sugar Sugar is not a spent force. Instead, he still commands a huge following and it is for that reason that we roped him to feature alongside Macheso.”
