FINANCIAL services group Old Mutual Zimbabwe handed over US$15 000 to the National Blood Service Zimbabwe (NBSZ) to boost its operations.
NBSZ is currently running a blood donation campaign to ease blood shortages.
Old Mutual Zimbabwe group chief operations officer Mr Isiah Mashinya said: “The lockdown measures and vaccination requirements have affected the supply of blood, as biggest sources of blood such as schools were closed. Old Mutual has come forward to make this life-saving donation.
“We are committed to communities in which we serve. Following the NBSZ’s blood donation campaign plea for assistance from all corporates to donate blood, we stepped up to the plate.”
Meanwhile, Old Mutual Zimbabwe employees have also come forward voluntarily to donate blood.
