Police has arrested 159 209 people in an ongoing operation that began in January last year to combat cross-border crimes.

In a statement on Monday, police said 295 people were arrested on Sunday alone under an operation dubbed “No to Cross-Border Crimes.”

Among those arrested was Tsitsi Makodza (44), who was allegedly smuggling a consignment of goods that included 23 television sets, eight home theatres, a TV stand, a microwave, three heaters and four stoves.
