ASTON VILLA midfielder Marvelous Nakamba plans to use his vast international network to lure foreign football scouts for the national Under-17 tournament that will be held at White City Stadium in Bulawayo.
The tournament is set for June 25 and June 26.
The inaugural Marvelous Nakamba Foundation Football Tournament was launched in Harare on Thursday night.
Said Nakamba: “Grassroots football is very important for the survival of the game. We all came through the system and we benefited because we were afforded the chance at an early stage.
“Henceforth, it is befitting that we continue with the tradition of supporting grassroots sport.”
Highlanders, Dynamos, Njube Spurs, Hwange Dynamo, Albun Academy, Bulawayo City, Ajax Hot Spurs and Chicken Inn are set to take part in the inaugural tournament.
