Seamer Blessing Muzarabani continues to stand out and has climbed to third position on the bowlers’ charts for most wickets taken in the current ICC Super League cycle.

Muzarabani, who has claimed 28 wickets in the current campaign, is joint third with Australia’s Adam Zampa and Craig Young of Ireland, according to statistics by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Leading the list of wicket takers is the West Indies duo of Akeal Hosein and Alzarri Joseph with 35 and 29, respectively.

Despite the individual brilliance of Muzarabani, Zimbabwe’s hopes of automatic qualification to next year’s World Cup are slim, as the Chevrons lie second from bottom on the 13-team Super League table with 35 points from 15 matches.

The league features 13 teams, namely the 12 full members of the ICC and Netherlands, who won the 2015–2017 ICC World Cricket League Championship to qualify for this competition.

The top eight teams will automatically qualify for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, while the remaining teams will have to play in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier along with five associate teams.
