NEW: Masuku boost for Bosso

RESURGENT Highlanders have been boosted by the return of star player and vice captain Nqobizitha Masuku ahead of the derby against Bulawayo City at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.

The 28-year-old Masuku, who has been a vital cog in Bosso’s midfield, missed last weekend’s 2-1 loss at WhaWha through suspension.

That loss in Gweru put a small dent to Highlanders’ impressive record under new Brazilian coach, Brito, and the Bulawayo giants are now hard-pressed to win against an equally resurgent Bulawayo City.

Highlanders have posted three wins, one draw and a loss since the arrival of Brito, who has significantly transformed Bosso’s style of play.

The Bulawayo giants are now on 30 points, three behind Manica Diamonds who occupy fourth position.

A number of players including Godfrey Makaruse, who has been converted into a left wing-back, are now enjoying their game under Brito.

However, it is the return of Masuku that should give Bosso a massive boost ahead of their 22nd game of the season.

Masuku is the second leading scorer at Bosso with five goals, one behind Lynoth Chikuhwa, who grabbed his sixth against WhaWha last weekend.

But, in Bulawayo City, Highlanders face a side that has also been doing well in recent weeks.

Farai Tawachera’s side are now on a three-match winning streak and have been slowly clawing themselves towards safety.

Bulawayo City are third from bottom with 21 points, just a point behind Harare City, who occupy 12th position.
