POLICE arrested a 38-year-old man and a male juvenile in Beitbridge over the weekend for allegedly poaching wild animals using wire snares.

The suspects – Freeman Moyo (38) and his 16-year-old accomplice – are being charged with contravening Section 5 of the Trapping of Animals (Control) Act.

“The suspects set 50 wire snares at Sentimental Safaris, Beitbridge, on May 7, 2022 and caught four impalas before game scouts apprehended Freeman Moyo,” said police in a statement.
