The construction of Kunzvi Dam, which is earmarked to end Greater Harare’s water woes, is now at 52 percent complete, the Zimbabwe National Water Authority (Zinwa) has said.
Posting on its micro-blogging site X handle, Zinwa said: “Riverbed section placing of dental concrete, right bank excavations and grouting in progress at Kunzvi Dam. Construction progress now stands at 52 percent.”
Upon completion, the dam will be a sustainable water source for Harare, Chitungwiza and Ruwa which are facing acute water shortages.
The dam, which is in Mashonaland East, will also support irrigation in Murewa, Goromonzi and surrounding districts.
