WOMEN football giants, Correctional Queens, have received a big boost ahead of the resumption of the Women Soccer League, with a sponsorship package from CBZ Holdings through its Red Sphere Finance brand.
On Thursday, CBZ donated training and playing kits worth $900 000 to the ladies’ team.
Said Red Sphere Finance managing director, Desmund Ali:
“Through this partnership, Red Sphere seeks to break barriers and give equal opportunities to women and girls in the sporting discipline that is soccer.
“I was informed that Correctional Queens is one of the most competitive teams around, and that gives me hope that Red Sphere is associating with a team that will be champions.
Ali encouraged Correctional Queens to win the Women Soccer League.
Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) Commissioner General Moses Chihobvu, who was represented by deputy Commissioner General Manetswa Manhivi, said they were humbled by the donation.
“As ZPCS we remain grateful and our doors remain open to all willing stakeholders who are keen to join hands with us, in ensuring that our Queens’ needs are catered for.
“We are really humbled that CBZ Red Sphere Finance took heed of such an invitation, hence our gathering here today to witness the donation of a full kit for the players,” said the Commissioner General.
