HERENTALS FC remain at the top of the Northern Region Soccer League (NRSL) log standings, after picking up maximum points against Cam & Motor FC on Saturday.

‘The Students’ won the match 2-1, to remain a point ahead of second-placed Simba Bhora, and three points ahead of third-placed, Golden Eagles.

Herentals are now on 43 points after accumulating 13 wins, four draws, and two losses.

Simba Bhora and Golden Eagles have a game in hand, after their clash was postponed a fortnight ago, due to the tragic death of Simba Bhora midfielder, Barnabas Mushunje.

Second-placed Simba Bhora returned to action last weekend with a 1-0 victory against Ngezi Under-19 Stars, while Eagles were held to a one-all draw by Chegutu Pirates.

The victory took Simba Bhora to 42 points, while Eagles remained third with 39 points.

The Northern Region Soccer League returns this weekend, with Herentals locking horns with Ngezi U-19 at Baobab Stadium in Mhondoro-Ngezi.

Elsewhere, Simba Bhora will host Chegutu Pirates at Wadzanai, while Golden Eagles entertain sixth-placed Mambas at Ellis Robins School in Harare.

Commando FC have a date against PAM FC at Commando Barracks.

All games will be played on Saturday.
