THIS weekend’s Harare Basketball Association (HBA) Super 6 League games have been postponed after it emerged the City Sports Centre was booked.

The complex has become home of the rebranded HBA Super 6 League since its inception last year.

“Kindly be advised that the City Sports Centre is unavailable this weekend, and, as such, all Super Six games have been cancelled,” reads a circular from the HBA.

“Despite all efforts to secure the venue, the City of Harare advised us that ZCC church will hold their congress at the venue until Sunday.

“We are in talks with the City of Harare and we hope to get new dates soon,” adds the statement.

In the absence of the Super 6 League, all attention will be on the A and B league fixtures.

At Richwood, Southside Ballers will clash against FML in a men’s B League fixture, while Assassins and Cameo square up in a men’s A league fixture on Friday night.

Two games will be played at Dzivarasekwa courts on Saturday, as Mabelreign Mustangs and Glen Norah Pistons clash, while Raiders meet the Cheetahs.

Richwood is expected to host six matches on Saturday, starting with a game between Drifters and JBC B.

TM Cavaliers play Greenstars Academy B, Zimworx Sharks meet Transformers, and Basket Dames have a game against the Fillers.

NetOne Patriots have a game against the Wild Hogs, while the main game at the venue will be the clash between Hustlers and Mbare Bulls.

The weekend’s basketball action closes out with two more games at Dzivarasekwa on Sunday.

The match-ups will see TM Cavaliers play Raiders, while Conquerors play Preachers.
