HARARE MUNICIPAL POLICE have arrested a street vendor at the intersection of
Rezende Street and Robert Mugabe Road for selling counterfeit and repackaged groceries, many of which were expired.
In a statement, the City of Harare confirmed the arrest of Bornwell Dirwai, who was allegedly found distributing repackaged food items under misleading branding.
“The repackaged products include milk in South African-branded containers, margarine in Buttercup margarine containers and cooking oil in ZimGold packages,” reads the statement.
“Residents are advised to exercise extreme caution and only buy from reputable shops to prevent health complications caused by the influx of fake goods in the market.”
