THE Government has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing installation of bucket seats at Rufaro Stadium in Harare.
Over 1 000 bucket seats have been successfully installed so far, with most placed in the VIP section.
The installation project is being led by a local company, Okim Investments.
The upgrade is part of a broader Government initiative to improve stadium infrastructure, enhancing both spectator comfort and the overall match-day experience.
Following an inspection of the stadium on Wednesday, chief director for public works in the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works Engineer Trevor Magwaza praised the progress made.
“We are impressed with the installation of these high-quality bucket seats,” he said.
“The investor has completed a significant portion of the work in a short period, which is commendable.
“We are pleased with the quality, the workmanship and the speed of progress. These seats were installed within two weeks, meaning that once the investor maintains this momentum, the entire stadium should be completed soon.”
The installation aligns with the Confederation of African Football standards, which require stadiums to be equipped with bucket seats.
