An aspiring candidate during the recently held ZANU PF Central Committee elections, Cde Tongai Nheta, says he respects the decision that was made to disqualify him from contesting and has pledged to work hard for the ruling party.

The youthful Cde Nheta, who was the ZANU PF Harare Province secretary for security for nine years, wanted to contest for a Harare Province Zone 3 Central Committee member post.

Zone 3 is made up of the high-density suburbs of Dzivarasekwa, Mufakose, Kambuzuma, Rugare and Warren Park.

Despite the setback, he has vowed to work with those that were elected into the ruling party’s highest decision-making body outside Congress.

“First and foremost, I would want to thank President Mnangagwa and ZANU PF for giving us the youths opportunities to present ourselves to the people and to seek political office.

“Although I was disqualified, I will continue to work tirelessly for the party. I know that my time to serve the party at a higher level will come one day,” Nheta, a ZANU PF candidate for Kambuzuma Constituency in the 2013 elections, said.

Cdes Shadreck Tiripano and Precatious Dambuza were elected to represent Zone 3 in the Central Committee.

“I am going to work tirelessly so that ZANU PF gets the required five million votes,” added Cde Nheta.
