An event management company, Victoria Falls Total (VFT), is complementing Government efforts in fighting drug and substance abuse among youths.
It recently hosted an anti-drug abuse event for youths in Southlea Park, Harare.
In an interview with The Sunday Mail Online, VFT events director Mr Farai Chakawa said companies equally have an obligation to create jobs and grow the economy to fight the scourge of drug abuse.
“We shifted our headquarters from Victoria Falls to Waterfalls, Harare, in 2020, so we discovered that we have a social responsibility to alleviate the plight of the people in and around the area we operate in,” he said.
“We took the responsibility to safeguard youths because if we let them indulge in drug abuse, we will have no today and no tomorrow. That is why we found it necessary to have this day to talk about drug and substance abuse and agree on projects we can embark on in the near future.”
