FOLLOWING her success in the 2022 Chess Open Ladies Championship, Kudzanayi Charinda continues with her dream of becoming Zimbabwe’s first female Chess grandmaster.

The 28-year-old Zimbabwe FIDE Master Elect, however, feels her bid of becoming a grandmaster will not be an easy one.

“I would love to be a woman grandmaster; however, this needs a lot of hard work and coaching and time.

“Balancing chess and a full-time job are a bit difficult, but I will try my best to give time to chess and achieve what I can say has always been my childhood dream,” she said.

Charinda added another gong to her growing list of accolades when she was crowned the Minerva 2022 Zimbabwe Chess Open Ladies Champion, beating defending champion Linda Shaba by half a point.
