KHAMA BILLIAT is back in the spotlight following yet another dreadful start to the season at his South African club Kaizer Chiefs.

The former Warriors striker, who has struggled with a knee injury, is yet to score in six appearances for Amakhosi, leading some to speculate about his future.

Billiat is one of the highest earners in the South African Premiership, and this has always put the Zimbabwean under pressure.

While Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has backed him to bounce back, Mamelodi Sundowns legend Roger Feutmba thinks the Zimbabwean “must be worried”.

Billiat is back from injury and played 83 minutes in the 2-2 draw against TS Galaxy on Wednesday.

“It is normal that in football when you don’t perform you need to be worried because no team will renew your contract,” Feutmba was quoted as saying by KickOff.

“No team will keep a player who doesn’t give them what they want out of him. I hope that hewill come back from injury and fight to continue playing football.

“A player like Khama needs to contribute for the team to get results.

“Khama must be worried now, because Chiefs are paying him to be playing regularly and scoring goals.”

Zwane is, however, backing his player to shine.

“I also wanted Khama (Billiat) to score for us. He had quite a few chances, and I know he is going to score,” said Zwane soon after Chiefs’ 2-2 draw against TS Galaxy.

“As soon as the goals start coming left, right and centre, we will be unpredictable as a team.”

Kaizer Chiefs have 18 points from 12 matches, and are fifth on the log.

While Billiat is back in the team at Chiefs, his fellow countryman Marvelous Nakamba is still biting his fingers, as the central defender is yet to play a league match for English Premier League side Aston Villa.

Some see coach Steven Gerrard’s sacking on Thursday as an opportunity for him.

Aaron Danks has been appointed caretaker coach for Villa, and he will be in charge when the Midlands side host Brentford on Sunday.

Nakamba will be hoping the arrival of a new coach might change his fortunes.
