NATIONAL Eye Security (NES) is working on a raft of measures to expand its area of operation from Zimbabwe to other Sadc countries as part of their five-year strategic development plan.

NES board chairman Mr Tapson Madzivire says the 10-year-old company is in the midst of its re-branding programme.

He said hard work and a non-compromising approach on quality has seen the award winning company lasting the longest yard in the security sector.

In 2012, they were adjudged the super brand 1st runner up in the security services sector as well as the best stand display at the 2011 edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (SMEs).

Mr Madzivire said they will continue to employ a number of strategies to expand their wings on the ground.

Currently, the company has a staff complement of over 700 people and is providing security services to the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) at Beitbridge border post.

“We have, through a number of initiatives, helped close some intrusive leakages at Beitbridge border post. We have also enhanced the safety of Zimbabweans and visitors to the country.

“Being able to work in unison with multi stakeholders at this port has made it easier to deliver our mandate under the current economic climate.

“We have a highly experienced team that coordinates well with clients at all stages of operations, providing a vast range of practical knowledge and expertise,” said Mr Madzivire.

He added that National Eye Security is wholly owned by Zimbabweans and the company is open to partnerships with other players in the security sector.

Mr Madzivire said the company has employed well trained security guards who can adapt to any environment, with high level performance.

The chairman said besides offering general security services, they are also involved in vehicle tracking, security guards training, cash in transit services, reaction/rapid response services, bullion movement, electronics (electric fencing), CCTV installation and monitoring, alarm systems, finger locking), debt collection, pre-employment vetting, VIP protection, consultants and security surveys, among other services.

“Our headquarters are at number 5 Cardigan Avenue, Belvedere, and we have other branches in Mutare, Gweru and Bulawayo. We have set our eyes on the Sadc market in the next five years.

“Pursuant to providing excellent service to our clients, we are desirous to comply with international benchmarks in the private security industry. The company is currently putting in place a system of internal controls in preparations for registration with ISO 9001.2008,” said Mr Madzivire.

According to the chairman, the organisation believes in ensuring that the communities they serve benefits from their existence.

“The company carefully chooses targeted community projects under our community social responsibility programme. The number of projects supported in each year is a direct function of the general performance of the company.”

Mr Madzivire said businesses should employ professional and qualified people for them to succeed in realising their growth potential.

He said they have efficient supervision systems in place to ensure that all their clients get high service levels.

“Corruption is our number one enemy. We have to play our role by providing the necessary security services to grow Zimbabwe’s economy,” said Mr Madzivire.
