Zimbabwe international Marvelous Nakamba was not overawed by the occasion when he faced Manchester City’s world stars in October and neither did he crumble when Aston Villa squared up against Sadio Mane’s Liverpool early November.

Aston Villa lost both games, but Nakamba never looked out of place.

He even received rave reviews from some English media, especially after the 1-3 defeat to defending champions Manchester City. And today, the 25-year-old Nakamba is expected to feel the Old Trafford atmosphere when Villa takes on Manchester United in a Barclays Premier League match at Old Trafford.

Kick-off is 6:30pm.

Nakamba was an unused substitute when Aston Villa beat Newcastle United 2-0 at Villa Park last Monday.

He was coming straight from a gruelling Africa Cup of Nations duty with Zimbabwe, but the star midfielder is now in line to make his ninth start for Villa tonight. With a crowd of over  75 000 expected at Old Trafford, which is popularly known as the Theatre of Dreams, this fixture should present Nakamba with another platform to shine as the match is likely to be watched by millions of people from across the world.

It will be two big assignments in a row for Hwange-born Nakamba whose side also faces Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

Aston Villa will then host on fire Leicester City at Villa Park on December 8 to complete what looks like a testing fixtures list. So far, Villa have managed four wins, seven losses and two draws in the 2019-2020 BPL campaign.
