HARARE-based a capella gospel outfit, Firm Faith Zimbabwe, is targeting to reach out to an international audience as it spreads God’s messages through music.
Firm Faith music director Mr Marshal Matsilele said the forthcoming album to be launched on June 2, 2018 will prove they are ready for the international market.

“Our seventh album titled ‘One day at a time’ will automatically announce our grand entry into the global acapella arena. We have matured and it’s time to show the world that Zimbabwe is gifted,” he said.

“I believe all the songs on our new album will be hits, although my favourite is ‘Ramba Uchitenda’.

“On this album, we featured Zimpraise songstress Sharon Manyonganise. lt’s a flawless collaboration.”

Some of the songs on the album include the title track ‘One day at a time’, ‘Ramba uchitenda’, ‘Precious Lord’, ‘Munozviziva’ and ‘It could happen in a moment’, among others. In 2012, Firm Faith broke the Star FM Gospel Greats record when their song ‘Wanyanya’ occupied the number one slot for more than 10 consecutive weeks.

“Fame and popularity will never change our mission. We are in this ministry to spread the gospel of the second coming of Jesus Christ. It’s not easy but through prayer everything is possible,” said Mr Matsilele.

“The road has many challenges but we find comfort in He who called us.”

The group was established in 2005 and rose to fame after coming out tops at a talent show in 2011.

‘Maria’ was the Faith Firm’s debut album, followed by ‘Tinevimbo’, ‘Munenyasha’, ‘Chikristu MuAfrica’, ‘Muumbi Wehari’, ‘Whispering Hope’ and single ‘Wanyanya’.

A capella is one of the fastest growing genres among Christians and some of the groups taking it to another level include The Well, Zakata Brothers, Stand Zimbabwe, Shower Power, Reunion and Breeze.
