STAR FM’s Shingai Mokina, popularly known as DJ Mox is certainly transcending boundaries.

His stock keeps rising with each passing show. It only takes seconds in his presence to realise the definition of urban culture, which seems to discharge from his being.

The smooth flowing gentleman has been credited as one of the DJs making a contribution to the local hip-hop industry, thanks to his “Hip-Hop Havoc” show.

It is no surprise that he is championing the hip-hop movement. The gentleman, at one point “seriously” considered becoming a rap artiste. “Hip-Hop Havoc” is Star FM’s newest show and runs on Fridays from 9pm to midnight.

The show is explosive as it features local artistes — unknown, upcoming and established, plus the best in international hip-hop.

“I am impressed by how the local hip-hop scene has been growing, but I think we have barely scratched the surface in terms of exposing talent,” reckons DJ Mox.

His influence knows no precincts, as the DJ is also “The King” of noon-day radio.

With witty jabs, boundless energy and an unmistakable fun vibe, the “Moxinator” has converted lunchtime listening into high-octane radio with his uncalibrated pace infused with interesting social discussions.

When you tune in, the revered award-winning DJ will make sure that you are Moxinated!

Armed with a powerful voice, fluency and creativity, the Harare-born and bred DJ has all the ingredients that are needed for a high voltage show such as the TXO.

This is one of the most exciting shows, Monday to Friday from 3pm, on radio, especially for the youths.

“Moxica”! is yet another pulsating programme that delivers three hours of ‘sweet’ mayhem!

Throughout the show, Mox gives you the hottest music, some special mixes, and he speaks to celebrities, and to experts on career and life issues like the ‘‘Dream-builder’’.

DJ Mox started gaining experience while hosting the “Midnight Lockdown”, a slot he was in charge of from 2012 to 2014. He further sharpened his radio skills by featuring on other slots.

However, broadcasting was never his dream.

“When I was still at school I actually wanted to be a lawyer or a pilot but then after finishing high school and when it was time to go to law school, I realised that I did not like reading that much so I decided to pursue something else,” Mox once told The Sunday Mail Society in an interview.
