The Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) and the Botswana Medicines Regulatory Authority (BoMRA) have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing regulatory collaboration through the renewal of their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The renewed partnership aims to bolster cooperation in the field of medical products regulation, facilitating information sharing, capacity-building initiatives and mutual understanding of regulatory standards.
In a statement, MCAZ said the key areas of focus under the MoU included regulation of medical devices, detection of substandard and falsified medicines and advancement of biotechnology and vaccine production.
“This collaboration will facilitate the exchange of information, support capacity-building initiatives, and foster mutual understanding of each party’s regulatory standards.
“It also aligns with our ongoing efforts to ensure the safety, quality, and efficacy of medical products in our respective countries,” reads part of the statement.
