MORGAN Heritage needs no introduction to Zimbabwean reggae lovers, having performed in Harare two years ago. Regarded one of the best reggae outfits in the world, they will get a second dance with music lovers in the capital when they perform at the HICC on December 21.

For fans of the genre, this is good news considering they have been starved of visits from Jamaicans this year.

While Morgan Heritage’s first visit to Zimbabwe was a blast, this gig promises to be much bigger as the group will be accompanied by another reggae heavyweight, Lutan Fyah. With the headline act’s music associated with a more mature crowd, their counterpart has appeal to both young and old reggae listeners, thanks to a string of hits on numerous popular riddims. Lutan Fyah’s club bangers include “Come Over”, “Ungrateful”, “Rastafari Leads the Way”, “No Wah Settle Down” and “Mi A Nuh Idiot”.

It is also not his first time in Zimbabwe, having performed in the country in 2011.

On the other hand, it would require quite some space to list Morgan Heritage’s catalogue of lits amassed over three decades. With more than 20 studio albums under their belt, the award-winning group is known for delivering exceptional performances, and those who attended their gig the last time they were in Harare will attest to this. The Jamaican superstars will be supported by an array of talented local acts, including Transit Crew, Enzo Ishall, Soul Jah Love, Seh Calaz, Bazooka, Hwindi President, Garry B and Templeman among others.
