Local consultancy firm Jimat Development Consultants has won the prestigious United Kingdom International Quality Crown Award (IQWC) from the Business Initiative Directions (BID) after it shrugged off competition from companies in 179 countries.

The company was handed over the accolade in London recently.

Only two countries in the Sub-Saharan Africa – Zimbabwe and Angola – had companies that walked away with awards.

BID UK is an international adjudication company formed 28 years ago to promote quality culture among leading companies worldwide while also giving opportunities to companies investing in quality processes.

Jimat business development officer Mr Gideon Gavera said the award would reinforce the company’s commitment to the quality work they have done in more than 30 countries in Africa and Asia.

“We will maintain the standard we have set. This is not about Jimat only, but Zimbabwe and the region. We will keep the flag high. This award means we are doing something that our clients recognise in terms of delivering quality service. It means we have set international standards and we shall maintain that,” said Mr Gavera.

Jimat was formed in 1992 and provides services in monitoring and evaluation, market research, capacity building, survey management, impact assessments and feasibility studies for their different organisations mainly in health related matters, food security and nutrition.

The company works in partnership with international and local private consulting firms, NGOs, research institutes, Government departments and research institutes in implementing development projects indifferent countries.
