‘I haven’t drunk water in 20 years’

The Sunday Mail

WATER is said to be life, but a man has made nonsense of that saying following his claim of not having drunk water for not one year, but 20 long ones and he is still living in good health and strength.

He narrated in an interview with Afrimax that he used to live a normal life just like any other person and drank water, but certain happenings in his life made him take the decision to not drink water again.

“I have spent 20 years without drinking a drop of water and I am willing to spend more. For 20 years now, I haven’t drunk water,” the man from Burundi claimed in the interview.

According to him, he was once a rich man who did a lot of good to his society and people loved him so much, but he was later sent to prison for a crime he did not commit.

“I am a father of four children. I was a very good man with so much love to give. But it all started years ago when I was a rich man in society. Everybody loved me and I hadn’t turned into a ‘rastafari’ yet.

“I used to take water then just like everyone else. But one day, I got visitors that ruined my life completely. They are the reason I am like this today. They came to me early in the morning and we talked and laughed just like others do.”

He realised after the visitors had left that one of the men had an envelope that had documents inside and he forgot it in his house.

“I didn’t know anything about it, I was rich and have many workers.”

However, police officers later came to his house, found the said forgotten envelope and arrested him in connection with it before it became clear to him that it contained documents of a stolen car.

He was imprisoned for years and upon reflection on how his life was ruined by what appears to be an orchestrated plot, he decided to join the rastafari religion and stop taking water.

He just could not believe how cruel humans could get.

Although the friends who left the controversial document in his house subsequently admitted to owning it, the police refused to let this man off the hook because he refused to give them money.

They made him spend more years in prison until his family thought he had died.

Joining the rastafari religion is not a problem per se, but what is baffling is the decision not to drink water for two decades and the willingness to stay away from the natural resource known and referred to as “life”.

He said the rastafari religion does not frown on drinking water, but he personally chose to live without drinking water.

Passenger caught breastfeeding

cat during flight

A woman on a recent Delta Airlines flight allegedly began to breastfeed her pet cat mid-flight and refused to stop after getting caught.

The incident allegedly happened during a trip on board Delta Flight 1360, a route that travels between Syracuse, New York and Atlanta, Georgia.

An image posted to social media suggests that the purported cat breastfeeding happened while the plane was headed towards Atlanta, although it is not clear exactly when the incident happened.

The image circulating online describes the supposed event in what appears to be a screen capture of message sent using the Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS), which pilots use to transmit short text-based messages to the ground.

The message reports that a passenger in seat 13A “is breastfeeding a cat and will not put cat back in carrier” in response to a request from a flight attendant.

The message asks that the situation be addressed by the airline’s “Red Coat” team upon landing. Delta describes members of the team as “elite airport customer service experts” who are “specially trained to handle on-the-stop customer issues.”

Beyond the purported ACARS message, which Newsweek has not independently verified, little other information about the supposed incident was also available.

However, a TikTok account from flight attendant Ainsley Elizabeth appears to refer to the incident, with a video posted on November 2 claiming that “security met the flight because a woman was breastfeeding her cat.”

“This woman had one of those, like, hairless cats swaddled up in a blanket so it looked like a baby,” Ainsley Elizabeth said in a follow-up video posted on November 13.

“Her shirt was up and she was trying to get the cat to latch and she wouldn’t put the cat back in the carrier. And the cat was screaming for its life.”

“What does she do at home if she’s doing that in public?” she asked.

“And then security met the flight just to tell her that she couldn’t do that again, cause it was weird and gross.”

Daughter sues

mother’s doctor

A young British lady identified as Evie Toombes has won her “wrong conception” case against her mother’s doctor.

The 20-year-old from Lincolnshire, United Kingdom (UK) had dragged her mum’s doctor to court for allowing her to be born with a permanent health condition.

The health condition called lipomylomeningocoele (LMM) is a result of a gap in her spine because it failed to develop while she was in the womb.

Evie whose condition forced her to become a frequent visitor to the hospital to receive tubes into her body said the doctor failed to prescribe vital supplements that would have averted the problem, WioNews reports.

The compensation will cover her extensive care needs for life. At a London’s High Court ruling held on December 1, Judge Rosalind Coe QC backed the lady’s claim and awarded her a huge compensation for damages.

According to the New York Post, Evie’s lawyers said the amount she is claiming has not been calculated yet but it sure is a big one as it will cover her extensive care needs for the rest of her life.

Judge Rosalind found out that the doctor had truly not told the lady’s mother the importance of taking folic acid supplements before getting pregnant.

“And if she had been told, she would have delayed conceiving and instead had a different, totally healthy, baby,” the judge added.
