A Domboshava woman has dragged her husband to court alleging that he assaulted and insulted her for missing a memorial service at his village.
Mrs Mary Anne Chipanga made the allegations on Tuesday at Harare Civil Court.
The 70-year-old told the court that her husband did not attend any memorial services at her family’s side, but always wanted her to attend to his family.
“I spend two weeks at a funeral as revenge to get him. He always insults and assaults me if I do not attend any funeral at his family”, she said
In response, Mr Takunda Chipanga (87) denied the allegations and argued that his wife behaved strangely and left the house without his permission.
“She always leaves the house without my permission. She can spend more than five days without telling anyone where she is. I am 87 years old and I need someone to look after me”, he said.
Presiding magistrate Ms Meenal Narotam ordered the two to live in peace and also ordered Mr Chipanga not to insult or assault his wife.
