Gratitude attracts success

IF someone was to ask you now, what you are grateful about, would you express it without overthinking?

The moment you find yourself overthinking, you should realise that you may not be grateful enough.

How often do you appreciate the people in your life, just for being a part of your life?

Do you appreciate the advice, the companionship, the laughter that they give you and much more?

Life can be challenging, in fact, life can be tough sometimes.

While you can be hard-pressed from every side at times, remember that there still remains something to be grateful for.

It can be the seemingly little things, like having good neighbours.

Expressing the attitude of gratitude is not easy as it sounds.

We live in a world where negativity and insecurity are the norm and this can leave you wondering if it is possible to show gratitude every day.

The key to living a grateful life is to firstly make it intentional and deliberate.

This is a decision that you ought to make on your own.

It is when you choose to express thankfulness and appreciation in every aspect of your life for both the big and small things.

The world’s most read book, the bible, “ . . . give thanks in all circumstances . . . ” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

This means that there is always something to be grateful for.

Having an attitude of gratitude helps you become someone who gives back all the time.

You remove the focus from yourself and you focus on someone else.

For too long, some of us have lived a life where it is all about ourselves.

We are now in the festive season, a season of thanksgiving.

If you are not careful, you can find yourself with nothing to be thankful for and no one to appreciate.

To help you kick start a process of transformation, start by surrounding yourself with people who have a mindset of gratitude.

This will shift your mind and focus.

Taking time on a daily basis to reflect on at least one thing that went well can spark joy and happiness.

This is an attractive attribute which then appeals to like-minded people who put their efforts towards making a positive difference.

As you do this step by step, you find yourself climbing the ladder of success.

Before you realise it, you may find yourself at another level that you did not see coming.

Gratitude unlocks

doors to favour

For instance, a child who shows parents that he or she is grateful for being taken care of, will motivate the parents to do even more.

The same applies in every other kind of relationship, show appreciation and receive more.

It is never too late to start

If you feel that you have been stuck in a toxic lifestyle where you are surrounded by negativity, with nothing to appreciate and nothing or very little to be grateful for, being thankful can change your life.

It may not happen overnight, but eventually it will.

Another author said: “Your thoughts are like muscles; you need to work your mind out to improve your thoughts.”

Practising gratitude and adapting positive habits is more fulfilling than being stuck in depression and waiting for big things to happen.

The sad part is when you realise that the seemingly little things were actually big things in your life when it is too late.

The things we consider big in our lives differ depending on our different purposes and destinies.

The sad truth is that very few of us know what our purpose and calling is, this is the reason why some spend so much time competing.

But, the one thing we all have in common is the ability to enjoy every moment once we decide to do so.

All you need to do is to decide to start now.

Some ways of

showing gratitude:

Say thank you or I appreciate you;

Offer someone support in times of need;

Give someone a reason to smile; and

Tell others about how good someone is.

As we navigate through challenging times, the need for gratitude is magnified.

It is time to make gratitude a part of your day.

As you now begin the #grateful process, what are the three things you are grateful for right now?

Go on, show the appreciation.
