ZIMDANCEHALL singer Freeman, born Sylvester Chizanga, is currently in the studio finalising his forthcoming album, set for release in the coming weeks.

Despite the continued success of his last album, “Trophy”, featuring hits like “Man To Man”, the singer is eager to unveil new music.

This yet-to-be-titled project will mark Freeman’s 14th full-length studio album in a career spanning over a decade and a half.

In an interview with The Sunday Mail Entertainment, Freeman expressed his desire to consistently entertain his fans with fresh music.

“If everything goes according to plan, we will be releasing the new album on October 26,” he said.

His last offering, “Trophy”, was launched at a sold-out and colourful event in Harare.

“The album is yet to be titled, as are most of the songs,” said the chanter.

“This month, I will also be shooting some videos as part of the forthcoming project.”

The “Joina City” singer has maintained a consistent presence since debut on the music scene, delivering hit after hit.

His last album set a historical benchmark for events, particularly in the Zimdancehall category.

In fact, Freeman has not only evolved over the years but has also brought a fresh style to the music industry.

“We have to keep our fans entertained, hence the need to frequently release new music. The reception for my previous album was incredibly positive and surpassed my expectations. I feel honoured, thrilled and humbled to have such supportive and appreciative fans.”

According to the singer’s camp, the upcoming album launch will likely take place at the same venue as his previous successful event.

The chanter’s musical career has seen significant growth since the release of his 2022 album, “David and Goliath”, which performed exceptionally well.

Featuring a collaboration with Jamaican artiste Christopher Martin on the track “Zimbabwean Queen”, the album marked a turning point for the singer.

Prior to this, Freeman had struggled to win awards, but the success of “David and Goliath” propelled him to the forefront of the music industry.

The musician has since garnered numerous accolades, including Zimbabwe Music Awards (ZIMA), National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA), Star FM Listeners’ Choice Awards and Zimdancehall awards.
