“Years back managers needed to be in office to respond to a business letter, but now that can all be done from anywhere using ICT.
“Communication is crucial in business and it is now easier due to technological innovations,” said Mr Nheta.
Although ICT penetration in Zimbabwe, particularly in rural areas, is still low, there has been commendable growth in the sector over the past decade.
Added Mr Nheta: “We have lots of minerals but we need something to fall back on, something that does not deplete.
“Technology is here to stay, it will only develop and we can take advantage of that to grow our economy on technological innovations like other countries.
“Farmers, for example, can do market research on their produce and know what the market requires, prices, competition and available opportunities using ICT.”
