The month of December comes with lots of merrymaking.
While the spiritual world was “on leave” in sacred November with nuptials and related functions put on hold, the living world was up and about making sure that December would be eventful.
As a result, many weddings are lined up.
December is simply the month of colours as floral and decor opulence takes the lead. Wedding and related events’ eminence is not in the personalities involved, but in the setting, particularly the decor and augmenting paraphernalia.
In planning an event, always remember that the devil is in the detail.
More importantly, understand the time of the season.
Fortunately, brides are spoilt for choice when it comes to decor and floral issues in December.
If you intend to avoid traditional crystal colours and the red colours associated with the Christmas mood, then there are loads of modern options for you to consider.
The look of berry shades such as deep reds and purples interspersed with whites can do the magic. This is a chic option for a merry wedding that feels luxurious and festive. Purple lilies are a sophisticated choice, and you will not need many of them to create an impact.
As for jewellery, one needs to be conscious of the colour theme. If you are having a late afternoon wedding, which eventually results in the other part of the event taking place in the dark, it is best to dress bridesmaids in deep jewel tones that will look great in the evening.
Remember that shoes do not have to always match with some other items. If you feel like being minimal, then just having white and silver for your choice of colours makes a perfect theme. You could dress your maids in winter whites accessorised with silver and diamanté earrings, bracelets or belts.
A beautifully decorated glittering tree is an absolute must at both the ceremony and the venue as a symbol for the festive mood. Use the wedding colours you have chosen for your tree decorations. White, silver, gold and berry shades are classic and chic, while bright assorted jewel shades will also look wonderful.
For the table decorations, consider to put just a mini tree on every table or, to make things look extra festive, you can drape some organza around your wedding tables or tie onto chair-backs and table centre pieces.
The festive season is the best time of you to splash out on great food and drink, so serve your guests a festive feast! Versions of a Christmas dinner is a natural choice for your main meal, but remember that most people prefer traditional dishes than anything else. For a buffet, you could serve the traditional meals with all the trimmings in a curvy style. This is a best picturesque setting.
More importantly, keeping little ones occupied at a wedding makes their parents eternally grateful to you. For those tying the note on the Christmas day or period around Christmas, Father Christmas can pay you a visit to take care of that. Whilst the adults enjoy their drinks, Father Christmas will be busy with the kids.
