Do not stay at the wrong place

“TERAH took his son Abram, his grandson Lot (the son of Haran) and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Abram’s wife, and with them he set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan.

When they came to Haran, they settled there . . . and he died in Haran.” —  Genesis 11:31-32.

What are your plans by year-end?

Where do you want to be in five, 10 or 20 years?

What is your target in life?

What is your vision about your business, your job, your calling, your family, et cetera?

What are you living for?

Those plans and thoughts must be committed unto the Lord. Take time to present your plans unto the Lord.

Tell the Lord where you dream to be and ask the Holy Spirit to help you get there. From our opening scripture, Terah, the father of Abram, started the journey with the intention of going to Canaan.

For whatever reason, when he got to Haran, he decided to stay (a wrong place). The next verse tells us about the death of Terah at Haran.

What a tragedy!

Terah started out on the journey with the intention to go to Canaan.

You should not stay at the wrong place. It kills.

Faith is trusting God with your plans.

As Psalms 37:5 says, “Commit your future to the Lord! Trust in him and he will act on your behalf.”

Faith is simply letting God act on your behalf.

Trust God to the extent of letting Him act on your behalf, after sharing your plans with Him.
