Despite watching his team win with an impressive lead in a clash against ZRP Jaguars in Chinhoyi, Harare City Queens coach Ropafadzo Mutsauki said there is room for improvement if the team is to win the title.

It was a lopsided affair that saw the City Queens dominate, finish off 85-15 victors and maintain pole position on the log standings.

“Although we played a very good game, if we are to win the title we have to work hard, especially as we are yet to play against big teams like Correctional Queens who are the defending champions,” said Mutsauki.

“Four of our players were away with the national team and this was their first game back.

“Now that they are back, the trick is to find our best combinations since they had adopted the national team type of play, which is different from ours.”

Lethal shooters Ursula Ndlovu and Nomatter Changata, who also play for the national, made sure never to miss a chance, putting Jaguars to the sword with an eye catching display while Rudo Karume intercepted centre passes at will.

City remains top of the table in the Netball Super League with 20 points, 4 points ahead of rivals ZRP Mambas.

The City Queens also kept their unbeaten run safely intact, stretching it to 10 games since the start of the season.

ZRP Jaguars coach Alice Muchena said considering that her team is still in its infancy, the experience gained from the defeat will go a long way in making them a better outfit.

“Although we lost, I am not worried much about the scoreline but the experience of playing against some of the big teams of the league.

“We have learnt a lot and now we are going to work on shaking up the team and implementing a thing or two learnt from today’s experience.”

“We are still in the first half of the season and as we approach the halfway mark, I am sure we will work our way up to the top too,” she said.
