CHILLSPOT Records has severed ties with Zimdancehall chanter Silent Killer (pictured) , whose real name is Jimmy Mudereri, after their relationship turned sour last year.

The artiste was arrested in Mbare in November for allegedly assaulting Tinashe Kamudyariwa, who is younger brother to DJ Fantan (Arnold Kamudyariwa).

Tinashe was hospitalised after the unfortunate incident, while Silent Killer was later cleared of the charges.

However, the working relationship between DJ Fantan – a co-owner of Chillspot, which is also referred to as Mangoma Depot – and the chanter became untenable.

“I do not want to see Silent Killer at our studio anymore. He should stay away and find another stable of his choice,” said DJ Fantan.

“He (Silent Killer) is a drug addict and vicious man who is bringing a lot of problems to our stable, in the process soiling our name. He is also in the habit of spitting vulgar language. We don’t want him to corrupt other artistes, thus we have decided to let him go.”

Silent Killer has been working with Mangoma Depot for some years now.

In fact, Chillspot is credited for turning him into the star that he is.

But, since last year, owners of the stable have been sidelining him either for studio recordings or live gigs.

Speaking in an interview with The Sunday Mail Society, Silent Killer said he was not yet ready to leave.

“They have been sabotaging me for some time now. I was working on a new project with them (Chillspot) and they want me to abandon it. They have all the material and I am worried that they might end up giving it to a fresh artiste. I have some of the tracks written down and had already done some of the vocals,” he said.

Zimdancehall fans believe the move could mark the end of Silent Killer’s promising career.

“This is a sad development and I am worried. There is no studio that can mould me like Chillspot was doing. To be honest, I don’t think my career will still be the same after this.”
