CAPS UNITED take their preparations for the 2020 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League to Bindura where they play ambitious Division One side Simba Bhora at Trojan on Saturday.

Makepekepe have been very active in the off-season, bringing in over 15 new players as the Harare giants seek to reclaim the league title they last won in 2016.

Some of the new faces expected to be paraded by CAPS United in Bindura include the exciting duo of Leeroy Mavhunga and Tatenda Tumba who joined from Yadah Stars and Harare City respectively.

2018 Soccer Star of the Year finalist, Innocent Mucheneka, livewire former Chapungu winger Ian Nyoni and Warriors fringe player Richard Hachiro are some of the new players at CAPS United.

Mekepekepe coach Darlington Dodo thinks Simba Bhora will give his boys a good test.

“We played Yadah Stars midweek, it was a good game. We now take on Simba Bhora and from what I know, they are a good side with a lot of experienced players.

“Our pre-season has gone smoothly so far. We are getting there,” said Dodo.

Simba Bhora, who won promotion into the Northern Region Division One League at the end of last year, are home to a number of former Premier Soccer League stars.

Former CAPS United and Yadah Stars striker Honey Chimutimunzeve, Brian Muzondiwa, Dexter Phiri and ex-Dynamos forward Quality Kangadzi are earning their keep at Simba Bhora who are owned by Mashonaland Central businessman Simba Ndoro.

Former Gunners striker David Rediyoni has also been linked with a move to the Shamva based side.

Simba Bhora have also roped in Division One football veteran coach Arthur “Tuts” Tutani as they seek a quick route to the PSL.

The 42-year-old Ndoro, who is also a staunch CAPS United supporter, sees the match as a “perfect” opportunity for his side.

“This is a massive game for us. Everyone knows CAPS United always travel with a huge crowd so this could also give our boys a different test.

“I am happy with our progress so far, hats off to coach Tutani for a job well done. So far we have played Cranborne Bullets, Dynamos and Black Rhinos and I can see that we are improving,” said Ndoro.
