On every wedding, glitzy and glamour belong to the couple!

There is no room for sideshows. All members of the wedding party are dressed to kill but outstanding is the bride and the groom who rightfully take their positions of honour at the centre of the limelight.

It is their day why shouldn’t they bask in the glory of the moment.

While not every bride will wear wedding jewellery on her big day, most do. Wedding jewellery can be a testament of the bride’s personal style, her heritage, her wedding theme or simply a way of adding interest to what the bride will remember fondly for the rest of her life.

Today’s bride-to-be has so many options as far as her wedding jewellery is concerned — a lot more than her mother or grandmother had before her. Imagine polished silver and the warmth of gold, delicate freshwater pearls and vividly colourless crystals, modern jewellery silhouettes and vintage styles.

There are different types of jewellery sets that a bride can select from.

It can be a set of two, three or even four pieces. It can contain the wedding ring or it can be a single or two pieces from two different sets. The options are numerous.

But before selecting your jewellery, it is of great importance to first study the neckline and the other cuts of the dress.

If the gown features a high neckline or a halter top, it wouldn’t be wise to purchase a necklace. But if the dress is strapless and it has nothing too sophisticated applied on the bodice, you can wear something sparkling at the neck.

If it’s a V-neck dress, the best type of necklace is the thin drop-drown style. You can add a personalised pendant for a more unique look.

A too big necklace or bulky pendant can detract from the beauty and elegance of your dress. So make sure that you choose something refined and soft, something stylish and nice.

Avoid necklaces based on chokers because they will also make your chest appear too broad or too elaborated. In most cases, brides decide to wear a simple strand of white pearls.

The length can be of four inches from your neck. This option is easy to adopt and assume, especially if you love pearls and you consider yourself a classic romantic bride. If the dress features long sleeves, it wouldn’t be a good idea to wear a bracelet.

Brides who are wearing their hair down in the front on the wedding can also give up on earrings and invest only in a couture neck piece based on gold and diamonds or other expensive elements.

For those who are wearing an off the shoulder gown, perhaps a thin choker based on a large pendant or a lovely pearl would work nice.

Triple-strand pearl necklace are also great for this type of dress. Brides who are wearing a very simple strapless gown can choose a fan-style necklace.
