THEY might have suffered the worst defeat of the season at the hands of TelOne, but Premiership debutants Bikita Minerals believe they can pick the pieces up and fight for survival.
The Lithium Boys were hammered 6-1 at Ascot last week, before playing a goalless draw against Manica Diamonds at Sakubva last weekend.
Bikita Minerals are now just a point from safety, with 31 points from 28 matches.
They play Chegutu Pirates in a relegation battle at Baobab on Sunday, needing to pick up points to steer clear of the murky waters.
One of their emerging players, Tinashe Ruzive, who scored the consolation goal against TelOne is convinced the Lithium Boys can swim their way out of the murky waters of relegation.
“The chances of survival are very high because we are only left with six games and from the way we are playing we will sail,” said Ruzive. “Everyone is ready to fight and there’s unity of purpose in the squad.”
Bikita Minerals are winless in their last four games.
Their last win was a big 1-0 victory against former champions FC Platinum at Sakubva on August 25.
But, 20-year-old Ruzive believes Bikita Minerals can win enough points and survive the chop.
He joined the Lithium Boys in July after a spell with FC Platinum’s developmental side.
“I have played only three games but it’s looking good. “I am hoping to improve my game and help the team survive,” said Ruzive.
