Had it not been for the coronavirus pandemic, music fans were in for a treat today as Motor Action Sports Club was set to host the annual One Love Reggae Festival.

With most major events being cancelled, this fete was also supposed to be shelved but the organisers have decided to make it happen.

The gig which also incorporates the Bob Marley Commemorations and Africa Day Celebrations will be held tomorrow at Theatre in the Park.

While fans will not be in attendance, the show will be broadcast live from 7pm on several social media platforms including Zimcelebs and Zimbojam handles.

An array of talented artistes including Mannex, Allanah, Cello Culture, Ras Caleb, Poptain, Guspy Warrior, Celcius, Garry B and Templeman to name just a few will be performing.

In an interview one of the organisers DJ Dollarbill said Covid-19 was not going to stop them from hosting the second edition of this annual festival.

“This is an annual reggae event which is organised by Dollabill Entertainment and The Volt in partnership with Soundblaze and Audio Imperatives,” said Dollarbill.

“It was supposed to be held at Motor Action Sports Club but because of Covid-19 we have decided to host it digitally on Zimcelebs and ZimboJam pages.

“We are being supported by Theatre in the Park who gave us the venue and Chipaz Promotions is also coming in with some of the artistes.”

He added that the event is a platform to promote local reggae music with some of the artists in the genre feel like they are not being recognised by the arts industry.
