AFM Avenues marks third year

Pauline Mhuka-Magavu Religion Correspondent —
The Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe commemorated the third anniversary of the Avenues Word Worship Assembly in the Harare Gardens a fortnight ago.

Congregants engaged in song and dance in celebration with resident Pastor Brian Kudita leading them through the revival. The fledgling assembly has recorded significant growth since its inception.

Pr Kudita said although the assembly, which is largely a cosmopolitan gathering, faces some challenges, they were spiritually steadfast and would continue to evangelise.

“We reach out to residents in the Avenues, Belgravia and Alexandra Park, the embassies and the hospitals in the area are part of our responsibility and sphere of influence where we are trying to ensure that spiritually, all those people are covered.
Since inception, our numbers have grown and we have people coming from as far as Norton, Bindura and Chitungwiza. We are selling a brand that accommodates a cosmopolitan set up that is not a community one, he said.

“And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. As Acts 20:32 says, it is about inheritance through Christ Jesus and not through nefarious ways.

“Inheritance is through worship and the word of God and that is why we hold Worship Sundays to thank God,” he said.
