THE Seventh Day Adventists musical group Original Hallelujah Revival Chorus (OHRC) has started a US$100 000 clinic project in Checheche, Chipinge, as part of giving back to the community.

Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony in Checheche last week, OHRC chairperson McDonald Mberi said the project is wholly funded by proceeds from musical performances.

“It has become an annual event for OHRC to identify a need in a community and offer help.

“We are going to be under the Ministry of Health. The staff will be recruited and paid by the Government.

“As SDA, we are complimenting Government’s efforts of making health accessible to all at the shortest possible distance.

He said the clinic comes as the church’s free-will offering, which will be open to everyone.

Chipinge South Member of Parliament, Cde Enoch Porusingazi said the project is a significant contribution towards improving access to health.

“We appreciate the SDA church, through OHRC, for the donation to the Checheche community.

“OHRC have decided to plough back the proceeds of their musical adventures to benefit fellow brethren, hence the clinic will be named after the group,” he said.

“Adventists’ concept of comprehensive involves the whole person, that is, spiritual, physical, mental and social as we do not exist in isolation.

“We are happy that the SDA has come to our community,” said Cde Porusingazi.
