A toast to Corpus Christ High School

WHILE the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) result slip will only show our names and attribute success to us as the candidates, the reality is that this accomplishment cannot solely be due to individual effort.

Firstly, we want to thank the Almighty God for the gift of life and the opportunity to pursue our studies.

Secondly, we want to thank our parents for providing us with all the necessities for our education, including the moral support and guidance.

The two of us managed to get 19 points each after sitting the 2022 ZIMSEC Advanced Level exams.

This success, dear reader, is no mean achievement and is not something we take lightly. It was the culmination of huge sacrifices and dedication to study and schoolwork.

Achieving such goals does not happen by chance. The effort we put into our studies counts.

You will probably agree with us that it is not enough to just work hard without proper and adequate guidance, as well as a perfect environment for study such as the one we had at Corpus Christ High School located in Kuwadzana.

The fact that our school registered a 100 percent pass rate in the just-released results shows that we were, indeed, in a group whose success was almost guaranteed by just being at this institution.

Most of our colleagues whose results we saw scored more than 13 points, and this was no mean feat.

We congratulate them for their success.

We are forever grateful to Mr Ngwandingwa, our school principal, and all members of staff for the perfect environment they gave us to realise our dreams.

The strict disciplinary measures in place and your insistence that we should take our studies seriously, which we used to loathe, have paid off and we are now ready to pursue further studies.

As you taught us, we will be good ambassadors of the school in the world of professionals.

We urge you not to tire, but to continue just as you did with us.

To everybody in school, particularly those who will write public exams, we urge you to study hard and be smart. You also need to listen to your teachers and the school authorities.

Success has no secret. It is all about doing the right things expected of you as a learner.
