Televangelist Joseph Prince said something many take for granted regarding miracles.

He taught that the model of any miracle is in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John; and that any miracle without Jesus Christ is not a miracle.

Jesus also said: “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” (John 14:12).

Last Saturday I woke up to the news that Pastor Anselm Mvenge’s 24-year-old son Michael had been involved in a car accident on Friday evening along Samora Machel Avenue. His car was hit from behind by a lorry that did not stop.

I was also told that the pastor had prayed for him and he was now well.

For those in the know, you will remember Pastor Mvenge of Christian Healing Ministry for all nations as the first man of God we featured in this column.

Still in shock and with a little doubt in my heart, I called to find out which hospital Michael was admitted to and to my shock, I was told he had gone home.

I decided to visit the pastor and see what was going on and met the young man. There was little to show that he had been involved in a crash that threatened to paralyse his legs.

Mike gave me his version and I also recorded reports of the healing from the man of God and his wife, Mike’s brother Matthew and his wife Denise, two of Mike’s friends and an eyewitness, Mr Austin Manyuvire – who is also a pastor with Faith in God Ministries International.

I reproduce Matthew, Fadzi and Pastor Manyuvire’s partial testimonies.

Matthew’s account

Mike called around 7pm and said he had been involved in an accident and asked if I could come. I was with my wife. He said his car had been hit and it was damaged. I asked him how he was and he told me that he was okay.

The first thing that I noted was that he was in pain, even though he told me that he was okay. But he could not move his legs.

We then called the man of God (their father) and told him that Mike was not okay and he couldn’t move his legs.

When I spoke with the man of God, he said it was okay, just ensure that the police have been notified.

It surprised me and I wondered what he was saying considering that Mike was in pain. The pastor insisted that I go to the police.

I drove to the police, traffic section, and they gave me the contact number of the officer on duty in that area.

I called the number but no one was answering so I went back and I told them that the number was not being answered and they told me to just go because the officer was there. When I got back Mike was lying down and in tremendous pain. Some were saying that we should remove his stockings, but he was crying out each time they touched him.

I called the pastor and asked, “Pastor, are you coming?” And he asked me whether I had gone to the police. He told me to just deal with the police.

I was confused since Mike’s condition was getting worse. I went back to the police and I was also angry.

I told them, “My brother has been involved in a traffic accident and he has been hurt. Do you want him to die? I went to the traffic section and they gave me a number but no one is answering still. So, whom do you think should assist me?”

On our way back the officer asked whether anyone had been injured and I told her that my young brother was lying on the pavement.

When we got to the scene, the pastor had arrived and he had just finished praying for Michael and he was running up and down. The officer asked him, “Where are you injured?” And Michael said he was not.

I want to thank God. I think that He wanted to show something. Even the officer who did not answer her phone, I think it was for a reason. I believe that God wanted the pastor to be on the scene before the police.

I would like again to thank the Lord for the miracle.

Fadzi’s testimony

When the man of God arrived, he asked Mike, “Do you believe that the Holy Spirit can heal you and he said yes.”

He sounded weak and the man of God started praying for him, touching his knees: “Receive your healing in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Restoration, restoration! Let the anointing go through you. Rise up. Now, now, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Father, move the legs yourself.”

Mike then started moving his legs and sat upright. For me, that was surprising because barely five minutes before that, you could not touch him due to the pain.

Then he stood up and started exercising his legs and the man of God continued to pray for him saying let the Holy Spirit go through your body, and let the Holy Spirit move your legs. It should not be through your own effort. Allow the Holy Spirit to operate through you.

Pastor Manyuvire’s report

Last night (October 24) I was home when I received a call from our security guards that there was a car accident at our premises – 28 Samora Machel.

I had to rush there because they told me that the vehicle had almost entered our new showroom. I also feared that somebody might have died.

When I got there, there were a few people around, and a police officer who was recording a statement from the person who was allegedly involved in the accident.

They told me that they were all scared to touch him or move him from the vehicle because he was complaining that his chest was hurting.

I then asked how he came up since he was already recording a statement and they said a pastor just came and prayed for him. Although he had tried to stand up, he couldn’t but the pastor had power and when he stretched his hand toward him, he just fell down. They were all surprised.

When I saw the amateur video clip on a mobile phone, I was touched and knew that this was the hand of God. I wanted to know the man of God and that’s when I discovered that the man standing by my side was the man used by God to restore life in the young man.

He was used by God to heal the person instantly.

That is when I said , “My Lord, I believe you”.

I also called this morning (October 25) because I told myself that it might be that the young man might have felt pain later. Since I had Mike’s number I called him and asked him how he was feeling and he said he was okay and I said, “Oh my Lord, I will have to go there” (pastor’s house).

So I wish that people would know that we have got another head in Zimbabwe, and that God is with us.

Although he tried to say that he doesn’t want to be known, I insisted that he has to be known because I had seen the hand of God, and there are many people that he could help. I told him that I will follow him and that I needed to get a portion of his anointing.

He is a highly anointed man of God. I told myself that although I am a pastor at Faith in God Ministries, I saw something new. I am very happy and you can see that because the way I saw it last night, I saw the hand of the living Lord, the power of God, I witnessed that.
