VARIOUS players in the agricultural technology value chain are expected to participate at the Agricultural Technovation Exhibition in Nyabira, Mashonaland West province, on Thursday.
The exhibition, which is in its second year, will run under the theme “Technovation within the Agricultural Industry in Zimbabwe”.
The event is being hosted by Agrilytics, an agronomic services company, in partnership with former captain of the Zimbabwe national cricket team Alistair Campbell, owner of Lauetta Farm.
Agrilytics co-founder and head of data Mr Patrick Mambo said the event aims to encourage farmers to utilise locally produced high-tech equipment and software.

“Today’s agriculture routinely uses sophisticated technologies such as robots, temperature and moisture sensors, aerial images and Global Positioning System technology,” said Mr Mambo.
“Previously, we would look for solutions outside our borders, but we are now shifting this narrative and getting all stakeholders to be more inward-looking with their agri-tech investments.”
