The Zimbabwe Soccer Coaches Association has cast its net wider to capture sport-leaning school teachers as it branches to play its part in the development of youth football.
Bhekimpilo Nyoni, the Zisca chairman, announced a series of Level 1 and 2 courses scheduled to run for the last three weeks of the current school holidays for teachers invested with football coaching responsibilities at their respective schools.

“It’s Zisca’s overall goal to equip teachers with the latest modern coaching techniques which they will in turn impart to school children who have taken up football as their extra-curriculum activity. This is aimed at improving the standard of football in schools,’’ said Nyoni.

Nyoni already organises the BN Soccer Coaching Academy holiday programme, which resumes tomorrow at Belgravia Sports Club and has since become the most popular holiday soccer clinic in the capital, having groomed a cluster of players for both the local and regional market, with Kaizer Chiefs striker Matthew Rusike the most celebrated among them.

The thrice-yearly clinic attracts budding footballers in all youth age groups from Under-14s to Under-20s.

According to Clayton Munemo, a coach at BN Academy, they seek to prepare players for the forthcoming football term.
