The Zimbabwe Under 18 girls’ basketball team set to feature at the Africa Youth Games next month in Botswana is ready to taste the introduced shorter version of the game. The team comprises six players who will be under the guidance of coach Erinous Katsaruware and assistant coach Eric Banda.

Mary Chawayipira, Petra Mukondo, Christelle Nyauchi, Tracey Makovere, Cynthia Mambo and Tashinga Gudza make up the provisional team that will do duty at the continental show case penciled for May 22 to 31 in Gaborone. Mambo and Gudza are the reserve players.

Banda said even though the players come from different schools, the players are used to each other as are both part of the Green Stars Basketball Academy.

Zimbabwe women basketball was selected to the second edition of the games through their ranking where they sit at number nine in Africa.
