Labour and Economic Development Research Institute of Zimbabwe (Ledriz) director Dr Godfrey Kanyenze says Zimbabwe should learn from Asian nations that provide massive support to micro, small and medium enterprises. Dr Kanyenze said India was among the leading countries whose major economic drivers are MSMEs.
The Oriental state formally recognises the sector.  In fact, the authorities have facilitated the setting up of specialised micro-finance banks

where MSMEs can access loans on friendly terms, in some cases collateral-free.
“The key drivers of the Asian economy are MSMEs working hand-in-hand with multinationals within global supply chains.

“The Asian real estate sector will be driven by huge investments in green technology, infrastructure linking disparate parts of Asia such as inland routes between China and India via Myanmar. Intra-Asian trade is growing in leaps and bounds.

“In India and other Asian countries, MSMEs are now exporting products to global markets.”
