CHURCH leaders should focus on winning souls for God’s kingdom, as this is the essence of Christianity, Alive in Christ leader Prophet Arthur Buranda has said.

Prophet Buranda, who is on an evangelism drive, said: “As Christians, we are supposed to work hard and reach out the world with the true gospel of Jesus Christ. This is the essence of Christianity.

“If you love Jesus, you should know that souls are His heartbeat. One day, we shall all stand before Him presenting what we won for him in our days on earth.”

He explained that miracles of raising the dead, healing the sick and prosperity were performed by Jesus through pastors and prophets to convince the world about Christ’s authority.

“The world is convinced by what they see physically, so Jesus showcases His mighty power because He knows that without signs and wonders, some people may not turn to His kingdom,” he said.

The preacher urged Christians to shun sin.

“Let’s build a strong relationship with God, He is our master. Christian life should be exemplary by turning away from sinful life. We ought to obey God in everything we do,” said Prophet Buranda.

He went on: “There is hope in Christ Jesus for anyone who is sick beyond what the doctors can help. Jesus is still healing the sick in our day because He is the same yesterday, today and forever.”

Alive in Christ was formed in January and has branches in Harare and Marondera, with plans afoot to launch an assembly in Bindura.
