Who said you are disabled?

Lynell  Dangarembizi : My Perspective

WHO told you, you are naked? This question was asked by God to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

God is asking a similar question to you today. Who told you, you are disabled since it was not him?

Psalms 139:14 says, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body…”

Fearfully means God took His time while forming you. In essence you a rare piece of art that God developed in His divine studio. For God to ask you such a question, it means inwardly you are saying God made a mistake when he made you. You have reduced God down to the level of a human being who is capable of making mistakes.

So if it was not God who told you those lies, it was the work of the enemy, the devil who has been peddling these lies to you.

Another valid question to ask is why would the devil call something that God considers a masterpiece, disfigured and substandard? The answer is simple. The devil is scared of disabled people. Like God when the devil looks at you, he sees the potential and gifts inside of you. He recognises that of all the people on earth, the so called disabled people pose the greatest threat to his kingdom.

The devil is many things but he is not stupid. His attack on the self-worth of disabled people has been done to keep them from realising their potential. It’s just like keeping a young lion cub together with your goats. Continually calling the lion a goat and treating it as a goat would surely damage its self-worth and would make sure it will not realise its potential.

Remember like we have always been saying God is fair, if in His purpose he decides to make you without eyes, He has compensated and gifted you in another area elsewhere. Your purpose in life would then be determined by finding that special gift. Crying over being born without those eyes will only waste your time and delay in finding your purpose.

Look at the Apostle John, the disciple whom Jesus loved. John is credited to have written five books of the New Testament, namely The Gospel of John, The first, second and third epistles of John and the book of Revelation. Of all the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ only John was entrusted by God to receive such an end time message. Many reasons have been given to try and explain why John was chosen to receive this revelation, with some saying because he was the disciple whom Jesus loved. Personally I think it goes deeper than this.

If you study the later stages of the life of John you will discover that he was exiled to the Island of Patmos during a time of great persecution in Rome. It was only after he went blind that he received this heavenly revelation. He saw the message through a vision which he later dictated to a scribe who wrote everything down.

What is interesting is that most of the apostles wrote something in the New Testament, and at this stage they were all on the same level. It was only after John went blind that he was elevated to a higher position that enabled him to receive The Book of Revelation. If John had remained able-bodied such a privilege would have evaded him.

Are you telling me that God was not able to find someone more eloquent than Moses to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt? In God’s eyes only Moses was worthy of such a task, even though in our eyes he stammered.

There are occupations reserved for disabled people.

Only two men John and Daniel, in the whole Bible received an end time revelation. These great men had one thing in common, they are what the society calls disabled. I am talking here of the Apostle John and the Prophet Daniel. Daniel was castrated in order to be able to serve as a eunuch in the palace of the King of Babylon.

Some may call it coincidence, but the truth is that, it shows just how powerful the disabled person is.

All disabled people you see moving around have rare types of blessings from God. The devil knows it and has been working hard through all generations to kill the potential of disabled people. The heart of God has been turned towards disabled people in this season.

What a privilege to be alive in this generation, where all the shame associated with disability is being wiped away.

This is what God is saying to you today “I will use you as a vessel, and I will make you shine, and as my vessel I will continue to make you brighter, brighter and brighter.”

Till next time, “Celebrate Your Uniqueness!”
