THE Warriors are ready to do the business!

Below is what some of the boys had to say about this afternoon’s battle against Guinea at Rufaro.

Willard Katsande

Being the captain, I have to lead by example. People have been warning us, Guinea are a tough team but we must beat them at Rufaro. This is our home, we have to prove it, show the visitors the stuff we are made of. This is the time to make the fans happy, we want three points.

Costa Nhamoinesu

Playing for your country is the greatest honour a player can get in his career. This is the biggest team in the country. Now that I am here, I am feeling good and I am looking forward to the big game. Hopefully I will put a performance that will help my country beat Guinea.

Nyasha Mushekwi

Everything has been fine for me in Sweden and I am sorting out my future now that the loan has expired. I think it would be logical for me to return to Djurgardens to finish off the season. It is good I have been getting those goals in Sweden but what is important now is to transform that into the national team.

Matthew Rusike

It is a good feeling being back in the Warriors set up and I am really looking forward to this match against Guinea. I have been putting a lot of effort into my game since I moved to Halmstad in Sweden and I have been scoring goals too. On Sunday it should a collective job. Whoever is picked should give his all for the team and the nation.

Cuthbert Malajila

As a player, this is my last chance to go to Afcon since I will be turning 30 next month. This is a game that we have to win. This game should be treated like a cup final.

The good thing is we have got about four good strikers in the team, a good attack line I should say. This is not about an individual player but the Warriors and the country at large. We know what is at stake, we know what needs to be done.

Washington Arubi

The last time we played Guinea we lost 0-1 away and I was in goals but this time around I am confident we will beat them.

Partson Jaure

It is not easy to be selected in the squad especially now that Zimbabwe has a number of foreign-based players.

We have brilliant defenders all across the country, so it is an honour for me to once again be called for national duty.

We just have to collect three points from this game.

Ronald Chitiyo

This camp is full of foreign-based players, as you can see there are very few local players. It is exciting to be among these stars, it also shows the national team coaches have me in their plans. The game is at Rufaro, I am used to playing there for DeMbare so there won’t be much difference, I will just do what I do every week if I play.

Hardlife Zvirekwi

It is a fantastic experience to be in camp with some of these foreign-based players, getting to learn one or two things from them. We have been getting along very well. There is unity of purpose in camp and hopefully we will come out with a positive result. We need to guard against complacency, the fact that we are playing at home should not give us false comfort.

Eric Chipeta

This is a must-win game, we need to get to six points for us to be in the driver’s seat of this group. The coach has called all the best players available. It is good, most if not all, are in top form for their respective clubs. Every player knows it’s an honour to be selected to play for your country so I believe everyone will put 100 percent.”

Milton Ncube

It is going to be a tough match, remember Guinea are a powerhouse in African soccer. It doesn’t matter they lost to Swaziland, we should give them all the respect.”

Raphael Manuvire

There are quite a number of good players locally and to be selected ahead of them is just wonderful. Every player dreams of a chance like this, so I have to maximise on this opportunity and gain more exposure.
