Victory Vs Purpose

The Sunday Mail

My story is rather long for an 18 year old, to quote from J.P Morgan an American financier in the 20th century he said, ‘’a man always has two reasons for doing anything, a good reason and a real reason.’’

My good reason is that I wanted to be a source of inspiration while my real reason is that I wanted to escape ignorance and the stereotypes that African girls cannot succumb to much.

To unpack more on this I will define Victory as the act of defeating the enemy while purpose is a person’s sense of revolve. Therefore, Victory vs Purpose is all about DEFEATING OUR SELFISH DESIRES TO ACHIEVE OUR DREAMS AND SET GOALS.

Truly if Bill Gates or even Strive Masiiwa did not give up their desires there not be such renowned figures. As such my main purpose for writing has been to inspire all groups mainly the young. Why the title Victory Vs Purpose? Believe you, me anyone enjoying the fruits of their labour now is doing so because they overcame their selfish desires.

My name is Mandipa Shumba author to Victory Vs Purpose. I have written this script with the young people in mind, it is a fact beyond reasonable doubt that everyone is responsible for the future.

As an Arts student I believe this is just the beginning of my writing career.

The information has been inspired by both creativity and real life stories. My parents are both ex-combatants who helped me see through the scope of our lives as youths and therefore their experience have engineered the thoughts I finally penned down such as my chapter four titled ‘Virtuous women passed away.’

The chapter sympathises with women passed into harlotry or forced marriages by society. We could go on and on but in a nutshell we survive because we want to overcome our desires to achieve our goals. We want Victory Vs Purpose
