VaShagare: Mutuma’s move to Caps United hurts badly

RODRECK MUTUMA’s departure from Dynamos hurts.

His arrival at Caps United hurts even more.

Don’t get swayed by the “we don’t care” talk coming from the DeMbare faithful, among whom yours truly is a card-carrying member, Mutuma’s departure hurts real bad.

It hurts because we all know what Roddy is worth.

It hurts because we all know Roddy, if he had his way, would still be a DeMbare player to this day.

It hurts because Roddy has chosen to set up base at DeMbare’s now noisy neighbours.

It hurts because Roddy is a better striker that most, if not all strikers at DeMbare at the moment.

Does anyone remember how Lovemore “MaGents” Ncube destroyed Dynamos after being kicked out of DeMbare before being welcomed at Makepekepe?

Does anyone remember how Cephas Chimedza went on to become the Soccer Star of the Year and a thorn in the Dynamos flesh after being frustrated out of the team he grew up supporting?

Rodreck Mutuma could be the next entrant on the list of players who haunt Dynamos after moving from the Glamour Boys to Makepekepe.

However, fans being fans there is always the temptation to appear and talk tough.

Suddenly the Dynamos supporters argue that the lad is not a good striker, has disciplinary problems and the below the belt one that says the Prince is not a friend of water . . . bathing water.

One Clemy Muchuweni commented on a Facebook post which saw VaShagare burst out in pain saying “He (Mutuma) is a traitor and I wish him a very bad season.”

Hold on a minute.

If Mutuma is as bad as we, Dynamos fans, claim, why are we making so much noise about this transfer move?

The boy might have his flaws, like all of us, but he is a big game player who has this habit of delivering in pressure cooker situations.

Makepekepe have got themselves a match winner in Mutuma and Dynamos as well as other Premier Soccer League clubs have every reason to be worried.

Caps United appear to have finally put their house in order with Twine Phiri and Farai Jere kissing and making up.

Yes kissing and making up!

No, they are not worse than pigs and dogs, to borrow Gushungo’s famous line.

They kissed and made up in the boardroom, not bedroom, and the result is good business on the transfer market and the securing of some decent sponsorship deals.

This afternoon’s pre-season clash between Caps United and Dynamos will give us a chance to gauge just how far the two rivals have gone in preparing for the forthcoming season.

So many questions, no answers

So the under fire zifa president Cuthbert Dube told a Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Sport, Arts and Culture that zifa’s US$4,3 million debt will be liquidated within six months?

So the controversial zifa chief executive, Jonathan Mashingaidze, justified his office’s handling of the association’s finances when there is a board member of finance by saying his team has qualified accountants?

Are these two men clowns?

How many such wild promises has Dube made during his miserable tenure as zifa president?

Does zifa need a board member of finance if Mashingaidze and his team can handle the association’s finances?

Is this not in violation of the zifa constitution?

Surely is this how our football should be run?

Why can’t a vote of no confidence be passed in this Dube character?

What became of the football Indaba promised by Minister Andrew Langa?

So many questions.

No answers.

Something needs to be done before our football becomes the biggest joke in the world.

We have talked and talked and talked and . . .

Let’s have some action now!
